About

My name is Jon.  I started factorQ back in the summer of 2000, and have utilized it on and off since then.  For a long stretch of time, the factorq.net domain was lost, and other domains were used–Only recently (Summer 2009) did I re-attain the original domain.

Over the years I have gone  from a paid host, to a free host, to Blogger, and now to wordpress (see this post for backstory).

Over the course of the years, the content matter has varied wildly–mostly because I never stick to one subject for very long, and I have a short attention span.  Not to mention the emergence of “blogs,” and changing social content and all that.

At the point of this writing, my primary focus is FLOSS, with a secondary focus on politics in America–kind of a ‘liberty’ theme in general, I suppose.  Also other topics kind of floating around randomly: anything that strikes me as funny, offroading, …other.

A renewed subject I may discuss from time to time is programming–as this is what I do for a living.  Contradictory to the previous paragraph, I do mostly Windows programming in-house for the company I work for.  It does pay the bills, though.  I try to sneak in some Linux programming, or cross-platform stuff when I get a chance.  There’s more about my programming history on the code page.
